Life Insurance with Tax Relief
From 6 April 2006 it was possible for UK residents to obtain tax relief on life insurance premiums. This product was referred to as 'pension term' or 'life insurance with tax relief'. The example lower down the page explains how this worked.
However, on 6 December 2006, Gordon Brown, then acting as Chancellor, announced the removal of tax relief on new life policies taken out after that date.
The good news is that we can still find you the cheapest life insurance. We search all the leading insurers to find the lowest premiums, and then provide a discount to reduce the costs further.
Special Offer: Apply for cover within 2 working days of getting your quote on this site and we will send you a £20 M&S voucher when your plan starts.

We search all the leading insurers, including Legal & General, Norwich Union, Standard Life, Prudential, AXA, Friends Provident, BUPA, Bright Grey, Scottish Equitable, Scottish Provident , Scottish Widows, Skandia, Liverpool Victoria and Royal Liver. The guidance and/or advice contained within this website is subject to the UK regulatory regime and therefore restricted to consumers based in the UK.
Life Direct is a trading name of UK Life Direct Ltd, The Barn, Riverside Business Park, Natland Road, Kendal, Cumbria, LA9 7SX. UK Life Direct Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority, and is entered on the FSA register (www.fsa.gov.uk/register/) under reference 213208.
We are independent brokers, and arrange life insurance policies under 'direct offer' arrangements. This means cover is arranged on the basis that we have not given you financial advice and you have not sought advice from us. We can answer your queries and speak generically about the policies we offer but cannot say 'which is best for you'. Instead we offer high levels of discount and you can generally arrange your plan through us at a much lower premium than if you had sought individual advice.
